Fort The Malaun Fort is located v district Solan Of Himachal Pradesh. The fort is reachable through the Shimla-Bilaspur road. This fort has a violent history. It is the place where the famous Anglo-Nepali battle of Malaun took place between February and May 1815. It was originally a Gorkha empire that was taken over by the General of The East Indian Company, Sir Dr. Ochterlony, in a fierce battle at Lohar Ghat Jainagar near Malaun Bilaspur Border . The Nepali army had to live on grass as suppers, for several months. Due to a lack of basic amenities, the commander of the Nepali army Amar Singh Thapa signed the treaty on 15 May 1815. Under this treaty, the whole Gorkha Empire from Satluj to Kali river was handed over to The East Indian Company. Bhakti Thapa, who became a martyr in a fierce face to face battle , two big cannons, built and brought from Jalandhar, Punjab, were kept here since 1815. It is said that the Nepali Army had dragged them up with the help of elephants. Presently the cannons have been shifted to the Gorkha Training Center Museum, in Subathu distt. solan Himachal Pradesh in this fort have very big long fire tophs but till all the tophs lifted by Gorkha traning center sabathu
